Mr. Jasdeep Singh Mattoo was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2008, having completed his articles with Kang & Company in 2007/2008. Since working at Kang & Company, Jas has appeared at various levels of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, including the Immigration Division and at ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution conferences).
Jas has also represented clients at the Provincial Court of British Columbia and the Supreme Court of British Columbia regarding immigration charges, criminal charges, and family law matters. Jas’s immigration practice focuses on refugee claims, work permits (from within Canada and abroad), Spouse In Canada (SIC) applications, overseas applications (including marriage, adoption, family class, and independent applications), Pre- Removal Risk Assessment applications, Humanitarian and Compassionate applications, detention reviews, and Federal Court applications for Leave and Judicial Review. Jas also practices criminal law and has appeared at various Provincial Courts of British Columbia to represent and defend his clients’ rights. Jas’s criminal practice includes defending all criminal charges, including: assault, domestic assault cases, theft, drunk driving, and other criminal cases. Finally, Jas’s practice includes all types of family law matters. These include contested and uncontested divorces, spousal and child support claims, and access/custody cases.
